PGA West Condos For Sale

Most golf enthusiasts are well aware of the connection between the La Quinta, California area and golf. The two are synonymous for a few reasons. First, there is the simple fact that the Hollywood elite recognized the benefits of the geography and weather patterns in this region all of the way back in the 1920s, and began converting a huge amount of the area into a resort-like destination. This is why golf courses and tennis courts seem to dot La Quinta's landscape in such abundance.

The Nicklaus Tournament course is one the few golf courses in the world to feature two island greens - and is host to both condos and single-family residences.

This has led to the development of a strong golf-oriented culture in La Quinta, and in the greater Palm Springs area as well where there are over 120 golf courses that have been designed by some of the leading names in golf and golf course design. The popularity of golf has also led to the creation of communities in which neighborhoods are built around golf course fairways and greens in order to accommodate the interests of the residents.

This is one of the reasons that PGA West condos and homes are such an incredibly popular choice for those interested in living in the La Quinta area. The PGA West community sits on approximately 2,000 beautifully manicured acres with more 1,400 properties, including both single-family residences and condominiums.

Most condos at PGA West - Palmer Private are located on the golf course or around lushly landscaped water features.

The reason that PGA West condos and homes are so popular is quite obvious once you begin to assess what is available to residents. For example, whether someone is a year-round resident or one of the many “snow birds” who come to enjoy the gorgeous conditions during the winter months, there are six different PGA West golf courses available. Three of them are considered public while the other three courses require a PGA West Membership that comes with some great amenities and benefits.

The courses are located around the separated “communities” within the PGA West development and include the:

· Greg Norman Course - · this community is one of the newer PGA West developments. And with just 180 homes, it is one of the most private communities. Semi-private course.

· Nicklaus Private Course - noted as one of the top courses in the world, this is a community of single family homes and high-end condominiums.

· Nicklaus Tournament Course - featuring two island greens, this is a co-host site for the PGA Tour Qualifying School. Semi-private course.

· Palmer Private Course - known for its many community pools and tennis courts, this community touts a magnificent clubhouse and fitness center too. The course is home to the annual Humana Challenge (formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic).

· TPC Stadium Course - this is another community known for high-quality sports courts and spas, with a golf course considered to be one of the most challenging in Southern California. Semi-private course.

· Weiskopf Course - consisting entirely of single family homes, and with larger “lots” for each home, this community's golf course features one of the few “bye holes” in the United States. This is a private course.

The golf courses are not the only attractions, however, because the different clubhouses and facilities will also include everything from dining facilities to swimming pools, spas, tennis courts, and even fitness centers with health classes.

The Laid Back Lifestyle

As already mentioned, PGA West is an ideal location for those interested in golf or an active lifestyle, but not everyone wants to manage a larger single-family residence. This is why so many people (especially those living in the area on a part-time or seasonal basis) opt to explore their options with PGA West condos.

The PGA West - Nicklaus Private golf course has been ranked several times by Golf Magazine as one of the "Top 100 Courses in the World" - and is home to both condos and single-family residences.

Rather than offering such expansive features like personal swimming pools or spas, and all of the upkeep that these might require, PGA West condos are top of the line homes that are as low maintenance as possible and yet as gorgeous and comfortable as the larger single-family residences.

Most will have everything from fireplaces and impressive views of lakes and mountains, and also all of the high-end conveniences that a golf bungalow or villa is expected to offer. Efficient gourmet kitchens with the finest countertops and appliances, open and appealing floor plans, high-quality floor coverings, and lovely patios or balconies to facilitate enjoyment of the gorgeous weather are usually part of the condo "package". All PGA West condos provide convenient access to community pools and spas.
